Description

According to the 1905 regular for equipment and uniforms of the First Arcieren Life Guards. Silver skull, with incomplete Diana head's silver hallmark (800), the master's mark "H S" on the nape, armoury stamps "N37" and "39D". The finely worked chinscales as well as the bronze, crowned double eagle and the beautifully worked mountings are fire-gilded with abrasions in places. The metal chinscales are backed with black velvet. Black coloured silk lining, artificial leather sweatband. White horse hair plume to be mounted behind the neck of the double eagle, the spike not screw-tied any more to the hair plume. Slightly damaged, signs of age.
Together with an old cardboard box for the plume with hand-signed label "Garde u. Rittmeister Franz v. Stefenelli".Extraordinarily rare, splendid helmet of the Life Guards of the Austrian Imperial House.Condition:II + Questions about the lot?
