Iron skull, ridged at the back, the iron front visor rail marked "G. R." underneath.. Embossed star (one fastening nut has been lost) and coat of arms appliqué in grey lacquered sheet iron, leather chinstrap attached to M 94 side post lugs, national cockades in lacquered sheet iron. The smooth, iron spike mounted on an iron base. The interior crown of the helmet skull with the somewhat over-polished manufacturer's mark "G.H. Osang Dresden 1916" and head size "55/5". Ochre-coloured liner with leather flaps, the interior of the smooth front visor lacquered in green, the rear visor lined in black leather. Slightly damaged in places, signs of age.An extremely rare helmet of the Royal Saxon Horse Guards, in the grey iron, wartime issue.Condition:II Questions about the lot?
