Sturdy double-edged blade with flat fuller on each face. Crescent moon marks struck twice on either side. The forte decorated on the obverse with a finely engraved and chased portrayal of St. George, the reverse with a coat of arms and trophy bundle. The decoration of the blade probably an addition from the 19th century, recurved quillons with chiselled and chased decorations. The obverse with a curved guard bar, one thumb ring. Spirally fluted grip with iron wrap and Turk's heads of copper wire. Lion head pommel with finely chiselled and chased details. Length 101 cm.Condition: II Questions about the lot?
