Description

Red-ground, slightly shiny clay with white painting. Flat base, above a broad head on a short neck. Distinct, well worked out physiognomy. The forehead almost completely covered by a cap, horizontally divided by heels of different colours. A chin band is passed over the cheeks at the side in front of the hair. At the back of the head, the cap reaches the nape of the neck with a rectangular flap. Above the cap, a funnel-shaped mouth. Two eyelets between them at the sides. Hairline cracks in the upper part, one of which has been stabilised with red paste on the back below the muzzle. Minor chipping at the rim. Otherwise intact without missing parts. An impressive Moche culture pottery. Height 21.7 cm.
