DescriptionSeated voluminous figure, the forearms resting on the knees. With an opening at the head. The face is worked out in detail. Brownish to red clay. Minimal old chip on the rim of the vessel above the left eye, otherwise intact and without additions. Old mark on the bottom (presumably 2nd half of the 19th century): "From the National Mus. Mexico, found near Guerclájo". Height 22 cm.
Provenance: From an old family estate in southern Germany. Acquired in the 1950s in London. According to the label on the base, already in a German collection before 1900.
