Description

The wooden body covered in yellow woollen velvet (rubbed). The centre of the front with a depiction of Mars, the god of war, surrounded by cherubs' heads and birds, amidst interlaced strapwork in sheet brass, hammered and chased in relief. The mounting and the spout with spring-mounted lever made of tin-plated iron. Iron belt clasp on reverse side. Four strap lugs with the original, partly worn carrying cord and woollen tassels. Height 27.5 cm.
