DescriptionOctagonal to hexadecagonal barrel of finely grained Damascus steel. Rifled with eight grooves, 16 mm calibre. Dovetailed iron front sight. A silver stag chiselled in relief on the breech surmounted by the gold and silver inlaid signature "Morgenroth in Gernrode". Engraved snail drum, the tang engraved with the coat of arms of the Grand Dukes of Oldenburg under a gold inlaid crown. Lock engraved with fine scrolling leaves, gold inlaid signature and stag. Chiselled and gold inlaid dolphin-shaped hammer. Nipple protector with roller bearings. Set trigger. Finely grained walnut full stock with finely carved ebony trigger guard. Chequering underneath the scrolling leaves, the cheek carved with a baroque scene depicting a hunter and hound. Buttstock with patch-box, engraved nickel silver furniture. Horn-tipped wooden ramrod and iron screw collar.
