A magnificent Ionian flintlock pistol, 18th/19th century

Description

The smooth-bore barrel in 14.5 mm calibre, numerous brass-lined marks struck at the breech. The smooth flintlock with a domed lock plate, bearing a pseudo signature. The entire surface of the gilt silver stock with ornaments and floral décor in relief (the upper ring and ramrod thimble are later replacements). The iron parts somewhat pitted in places. Length 59 cm. Exceptionally rare, splendid pistol from a former Greek province.
