Description

Approx. 920 badges, some in several parts and of jewelry quality, in various shapes, designs, materials and production types, reflecting the national enthusiasm during the first war years. With depictions of sovereigns, symbols, flags and coats of arms of the Alliance. Impressive compilation that would be difficult to assemble today. Comes with the collector’s cabinet with nine drawers and a chamber pot with inscription (tr.) "The Emperor called and everybody came – Berlin 1914" of white glazed porcelain by Villeroy & Boch.

Provenance: This lot comes from one of the largest collections of patriotic memorabilia built over decades. Most of these objects are depicted and described in detail in "Andenken aus Eiserner Zeit", Militaria Verlag, Vienna 2004, or have been displayed in exhibitions , for example in the Army Museum Dresden.

The auction includes 454 lots and starts on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 10 am (CET). Lot no. 4001 - 4454. The pre-sale view will take place from 19 - 22 May, 25, 29 and 31 May 2021.
