Description
Double-edged blade of lenticular section. The upper half etched, gilt and with numerous engravings, among them cypher "FR" with "W" added at a later date, the lower half with four fullers segmented by a cut waffle pattern. Later brass hilt with acanthus décor and on the reverse symmetrical folding guard plate and grip with silver wire wrap. Length 101 cm.Superbly crafted blade held in high esteem in accordance with the family’s military tradition and handed down to the heirs, with the cypher being adjusted to the respective sovereign.
