Description

Black lacquered leather skull (craquelures, small indentations) with fittings of silver-plated nickel-silver. The emblem fixed with pins, with a double laurel and oak leaf wreath, bearing the appliquéd, enamelled star of the House Order (chipped). Cruciform base plate with four round-head screws, the banner "1621" at the front, fullered spike in Hessian form. Flat chinscales on rosettes, complete with both cockades. Brown silk rep lining, reddish-brown leather sweatband, the visors with red and green underlay. Slightly damaged in places, signs of age. Extremely rare find in beautiful condition.
