Description

Black lacquered leather skull with gilt fittings in non-magnetic, white metal. Angular front visor, a bar at the nape. Detailed emblem in the shape of the Baden griffin with an appliquéd eight-rayed star, upon which the enamelled red order cross with motto. Cruciform base plate with four star-shaped screws and an unusually high, fluted spike. Convex chinscales with leather underlay on rosettes with state and Reich cockades in lacquered metal. Pale silk lining, ochre-coloured leather sweatband, the visors with red and green underlay, the interior of the leather skull dyed red. Signs of age and wear. The unique, high-ranking helmet in beautiful original condition.
