DescriptionTen parchment sheets with 16 pages inscribed in ink with calligraphic text and with aristocratic coat of arms painted in colour, the last but one page with year cypher 1769 and Maria Theresia’s handwritten signature. Captain Franz Auracher of the "Prinz Baaden-Durlachisches Infanterie-Regiment" started his military career in 1729 in the "Gräfl. Potzdatzkysches Cuiraßiers-Regiment" (Cuirassier Regiment K 11 and Cavalry Regiment No. 25, respectively), took part in the battles of the regiments and is now raised to hereditary nobility by the Empress after 40 years of faithful and brave service. In a velvet folder (cover loose, rubbed, side ribbons missing), marbled front flyleaf, attached to it with a cord the imperial wax seal in a turned wooden skippet. Damaged, traces of age. Dimensions of folder 37 x 31 cm, diameter of skippet 16 cm. Rare, early patent of nobility with military background.
