Description
Narrow thrusting blade of rectangular section, with a smith's mark inlaid in brass on one side. Short quillons with octagonal, slightly tapered, broadened arms. The grip with original, rubbed leather cover, incomplete in places. Circular disc pommel with remnants of notched décor. Flat, rectangular, double-stepped, riveted button. Length 48.5 cm.A rare, early dagger with a stiletto blade only, which was designed to penetrate the gaps between plates of armour and pierce chain mail.
