DescriptionThe straight, strictly geometrical wooden body is mounted on four small brass ball feet and veneered in selected rosewood and burl wood, partly inlaid in brass and partly ebonised. On the lid an owner's monogram "F.M" in engraved mother-of-pearl. The inside is lined with bluish silk. On the lock frame an engraved brass plate with the ebonist's name: "P. SORMANI, Rue Charles 10, PARIS". Feet, hinges, lock and bolt in gilded brass. Dimensions 13 x 28.5 x 20.5 cm. Slight damage due to age and wear. Minor flaws in the veneer. One brass trim is missing.
