Bronze bear on pale yellow marble with black veins, consisting of an inkwell with gold royal cypher and pen rest. Olga was known to have and cherish everything Russian. This beautiful ink desk set with its bronze bear must have taken a special place on her personal desk. Underside retains property marks of Queen Olga of Württemberg/the Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna Romanow, the daughter of Tsar Nicholas I. Dimensions 50 x 30 cm. Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna of Russia (11.9.1822 - 30.10.1892), later Queen Olga of Württemberg, was a member of the Russian imperial family who became Queen consort of Württemberg. She was the second daughter of Nicholas I of Russia and Charlotte of Prussia. She was thus a sister of Alexander II of Russia. She married Charles I of Württemberg, with whom she had no children.

The auction includes 580 lots and starts on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020 at 10 am (CET). Lot no. 1001 - 1580. The pre-sale viewing will take place from Oct. 18 - 21 and Oct. 28 - 31, 2020 from 2 to 6 pm (CET).
