Description

Leather skull (slight impact marks, minor damage to the lacquer), vertical bearskin crest. Emblem of non-ferrous metal (traces of gilding) with Russian double-headed eagle. Round front visor with silver-plated rail of non-ferrous metal, domed chinscales with leather lining tied to the back. On the side a cockade of lacquered sheet iron. Black leather sweatband lined with natural-coloured linen (flaws). Inside the skull several ink stamps including a double-headed eagle, "Moscow" in Cyrillic script and year cypher "1910" as well as size indication "54". Slightly damaged in places, traces of age. Rare.

The auction includes 580 lots and starts on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020 at 10 am (CET). Lot no. 1001 - 1580. The pre-sale viewing will take place from Oct. 18 - 21 and Oct. 28 - 31, 2020 from 2 to 6 pm (CET). However, the number of participants for both auction and viewing is limited due to Covid-19 restrictions and requires an appointment. Bring your favourite breathing mask!
