Description

Majestic lion in fast run, mouth wide open. Mane carved in relief and structured by parallel incised lines. Right foreleg and left hind leg missing, tail broken off. Impressive carving with old patina. Length 17 cm. Rare!

Provenance: From a South German private family collection, formed by the father, a classical philologist, in the 1950s and 1960s.

The auction includes 712 lots and starts on Monday, Nov. 2, 2020 at 10 am (CET). Lot no. 3001 - 3712. The pre-sale viewing will take place from Oct. 18 - 21 and Oct. 28 - 31, 2020 from 2 to 6 pm (CET).
