An exceptional, probably French Brule perfume with a dragon, 19th century

Description

Free-standing. On a rectangular Louis XVI plinth in gilded, partly chased bronze the finely modelled squatting dragon with its mouth wide open, also worked in bronze. The body is hollow for oil or other flammable liquids. On top of it the attached removable tail with slightly recessed fin as a small bowl for the fragrance essences. At the bottom mounted with wood which is indistinctly inscribed with ink. Height 12 cm. Signs of age and wear. Bronze and gilding slightly rubbed off.

The auction includes 712 lots and starts on Monday, Nov. 2, 2020 at 10 am (CET). Lot no. 3001 - 3712. The pre-sale viewing will take place from Oct. 18 - 21 and Oct. 28 - 31, 2020 from 2 to 6 pm (CET).
