Description

Very elaborately carved grip and quillons of staghorn with beautiful age patina. The grip decorated with three-dimensional deer, hares and dogs in a continuous spiral and with a boar on the pommel. In the centre of the quillons head of a fox and lion, respectively, in relief, the lateral finials with three-dimensional dog and boar, respectively, above fine openwork tendrils. The blade fragment etched with flowers on both sides. Length 34.5 cm. On a later presentation stand of iron.

The auction includes 416 lots and starts on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020 at 10 am (CET). Lot no. 4001 - 4416. The pre-sale viewing will take place from Oct. 18 - 21 and Oct. 28 - 31, 2020 from 2 to 6 pm (CET).
