Description

An unusually large, disc-shaped pendant, made from a giant clam shell (Tridacna gigas) with an openwork ornament in tortoise shell tied to the front. Suspended on a braided string of natural fibres. Comes with base. Diameter 18.5 cm.
Kap kap ornaments were usually worn on the forehead. By contrast, kap kap pendants are extremely rare.
Provenance: Bedeutende belgische Privatsammlung.

The pre-sale viewing will take place from Oct. 18 - 21 and Oct. 28 - 31, 2020 from 2 to 6 pm (CET).
