Description

A matching two-piece set consisting of helmet and shield. Iron helmet (kulah khud) with one-piece skull, riveted crown plate and tip and movable nasal between two plume sockets. Attached chain mail made of open iron and brass rings. Round iron shield with a strong domed shape and riveted brass rim. Four small iron bosses with loops on the reverse side, red lining. Both parts with elaborate floral decorations matching each other. In between gold-damascened ornamental decoration and ornamental lines. All around the edge cartouches with elegant, nielloed nastaliq writing on background consisting of floral decorations. Height of the helmet 63 cm, diameter of the shield 43.5 cm.

The pre-sale viewing will take place from Oct. 18 - 21 and Oct. 28 - 31, 2020 from 2 to 6 pm (CET).
