Description

Iron cranequin, the rectangular gearbox with a finely etched cover plate on the front. Embellished with a continuous scene of leaping hounds and hares. Curved crank arm with the original wooden handle, the original windlass of braided hemp cord on the back. The sturdy rack with a mark struck above the prong, engraved with the date 1584. Small, mounted brass pointer plate, the belt hook is missing. Length 36 cm.
Condition: II +


Condition Report:
The metal surfaces in good condition with a slight age patina, no corrosion. The etching clear and well preserved. The belt clasp and one of the fastening bolts of the crankcase have been lost.
