A pair of magnificent presentation vases on the occasion of Grand Duchess Olga's wedding

Imperial Russian Porcelain Manufactory St. Petersburg, 1846
White and cobalt blue, glazed porcelain. The sides are hand painted and partially gilt depicting exotic birds and flowers below a frieze of ginkgo leaves in red and gold. On the bottom the mark, "N I" in underglaze blue for the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory at St. Petersburg. One vase with inventory label "ON". Heights 32.5 cm.
Extraordinarily fine condition.
Significant and select imperial gift.
Provenance: Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna Romanova (1822 - 1892).
